Letterman Association

Athletic tradition has always been important at C. E. Byrd High School.  The success Byrd has enjoyed in sports competition has been a great rallying point for the school and source of pride since 1926. The Athletic Hall of Fame at C. E. Byrd High School was formulated and conceived by the C. E. Byrd Letterman’s Association.  The Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet is a bi-annual event sponsored by the Association to honor its outstanding athletes.

The Yellow Jackets have been blessed with a great number of talented athletes competing on the men’s and women’s athletic teams. The Association welcomes Hall of Fame nominations from letterman, alumni, friends and supporters of C. E. Byrd High School.  Anyone wishing to provide information for a nominee can do so by writing to:

  • C.E. BYRD HIGH SCHOOL
    LETTERMAN’S ASSOCIATION
    3201 LINE AVENUE
    SHREVEPORT, LA   71104
In order to maintain the integrity of the Hall of Fame, nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character. All candidates will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to athletic endeavors. In addition, as much as possible, acknowledged leadership in his/her chosen field or community, state, and national presence will be considered. Candidates may be nominated as a player, a coach or contributor by anyone. Candidates may not nominate themselves. All entries must be submitted on the official Athletics Hall of Fame Nomination Form by October 1. The nomination form shall be available through the Lettermen’s Association, the Athletic Director’s office, the high school office, or the Letterman’s Association portion of the Alumni Associations Website.
